Situated at the intersection of two major collector streets, the site allows residents quick and easy access to a variety of important locations. Since most residents do not have a driver’s license or car, access to public transportation is critical. The site is located on a Bus Rapid Transit line with easy access to downtown Nashville and Vanderbilt Medical Center. As part of their holistic, restorative approach to care, Dismas relies on access to public resources such as healthcare and open space. Graphic designed by EOA Architects. In addition to street setbacks and rail line clearances, multiple utility easements and steep existing topography firmly defines the remaining buildable area. Bedrooms and social spaces are bumped out to provide additional space and to create rhythm on the façade. Planes are expanded from the bumps and given an accent color to generate hierarchy.
