Image 9: In order to support the various large gathering uses, Arnold Palmer Learning Center was designed to be highly flexible and adaptable for the community. Specialized features, such as the internal forum stair, are easily removed for future adaptations. Multiple rooms and elements are dual purpose and flexible. The roof and its positioning were carefully calibrated according to a year-round sun angle study, ensuring that the sun’s rays will penetrate the many-windowed façade and heat the concrete floors only in the cool months and be repelled during the summer.
