Porta Nuova - Milan

Category

EMEA Region

Description

City: Milan
State/Province: Milan
Country: Italy

Pierfrancesco Maran, Deputy Mayor for Urban Planning, Green Areas and Agriculture - Municipality of Milan, :
"Biblioteca degli Alberi is a wonderful public park, very much appreciated both by Porta Nuova residents, who are now witnessing the completion of the urban development project in the neighborhood they live, and by many Milanese who frequent and love this new part of the city. It is an innovative park, with specific features that remind the green areas/parks planned in Northern Europe considering the great variety and richness of its vegetation.

Moreover the Biblioteca degli alberi is an absolute novelty in the panorama of city parks, not only for the evident complexity of its design that makes it so suggestive and appreciated, but also because it represents the first example in Milan of a large green area without a fence. This implies the need to guarantee maximum safety and care at any time of the day and of the year. This is why we have entrusted the management of the park to Coima and the Catella Foundation, that, in addition, also guarantee cultural animation 52 weeks a year. Milanese and tourists love this park because they can always find activities, safety and quality".
