Kirkpatrick Park lies at the edge of Nashville’s Envision Cayce public housing redevelopment, 1.2 miles from downtown and abutting historic East Nashville neighborhoods.

15 varied structures line existing and new street connections with two corner parklets and a pedestrian oriented “woonerf.”

Kirkpatrick Park was built on the underutilized portion of a public park. MDHA committed to replace the public space with a larger, more central park in future phases.

The challenging topography and adjacent historic context called for a careful customization to each block and street.
